Sentence outcomes

Of those federal defendants proven guilty, 15% (or 1,090 defendants) were given a custodial order and 85% (or 6,067 defendants) were given a non-custodial order (community supervision or work orders, monetary orders and other non-custodial orders). (Table 7)

For all defendants proven guilty with a principal offence of Illicit drugs, 75% were sentenced to a custodial order. (Table 7)

For all defendants proven guilty with a principal offence of Offences against justice, 96% were sentenced to a non-custodial order. (Table 7)
